At eleven, I won a regional Young Journalist Competition at school which spurred my love for journalistic writing. This drive followed me to college and I served as the student correspondent for The Beaconhouse Times.
In 2018, I graduated from the National University of Sciences and Technology, Islamabad, where I majored in software engineering. Before graduation, I rediscovered my passion for journalism interning at The Nation, a national newspaper. Here I wrote news reports and feature stories and saw firsthand how stories can change lives.
Afterward, I delved into digital media, working as a multimedia journalist at The Centrum Media, Pakistan’s first digital news network specializing in visual storytelling. The experience gave me production training and added diversity to my skillset. In my time there, I helped create numerous video stories, identifying local heroes in the process.
